The importance of Quality Control in buildings

The experience achieved after many years of consultancy in pathology of constructions for the preparation of projects of recovery and reinforcement of structures, shows that many problems could be avoided in the execution phase, with the adoption of Quality Control procedures.

Construction Inspection includes activities such as project analysis, quality audits, execution inspection, evaluation and introduction of new materials and techniques, quality control of materials used, training and recycling of labor and professionals, meetings with all parties involved and measurements of the services performed.

The Management of Works performed in a service of greater scope in relation to inspection activities, to the point that it introduces a comprehensive concept of management of various measures, such as the management of the scope of activities, deadlines, costs, acquisitions and suppliers, of the risks involved , from all parties involved in the project, establishing effective communication throughout the process. At the end of the management process, the preparation of the document “lessons learned” leaves an important record for improving processes in future projects that are undertaken by the client.

The Technical Monitoring of Works (ATO), consult the activities that aim to verify the installation between the executed and executed items, from the technical point of view, the records, therefore, directly related to the designer’s technical responsibility. It is, therefore, of a reduced scope and, in general, it is linked to a number of visits determined by a designer, in addition to these checks, providing the necessary clarifications and guidelines. Engineering Recovery has accumulated many years of experience in providing construction quality control services, which enabled the development of its own Quality Certification program for companies and professionals: QVD® – Quality focused on Durability.
